CRUDAN calls for tolerance, unity among Nigerians

Abdulfatai Ayobami Ibrahim  The Christian Rural and Urban Development Association of Nigeria has called on citizens across the country to be more tolerant and always promote the unity of the nation. Making the call in Lagos during the group’s annual zonal lecture held in Lagos, leaders of the organisation stated that these two elements were needed to foster national development especially now that the country was faced with crisis on several fronts. According to Chairman of the Board of CRUDAN, Rev. Eric Ighalo, religious organisations especially the church, must take the front role in ensuring peace in the country. He said, “Tolerance among all Nigerians is key at this point to maintain the unity of this great country. “There are series of agitations from the north, east and other parts of the country, so the church and other religious organisations must rise up as agents of peace and reconciliation.” In a paper titled ‘Nigerian church as ...
